RishikeshRishikesh: Yoga Capital of the World

Considered as one of the holiest cities in India, Rishikesh Tourism has evolved as a magnet for those seeking spiritual fulfilment. Innumerable meditation and yoga destinations have mushroomed in Rishikesh, attracting foreigners from different parts of the world. The forested hills enveloping the fast flowing River Ganges, catapulted with its salubrious air, is very conducive for meditation. Travel to Rishikesh and explore world renowned cuisines in innumerable themed cafes, literally surprising yourself.  In fact, when the world famous band Beatles visited Rishikesh in 60’s, they were influenced by the beauty of this quaint little dwelling in a phenomenal manner.

Tourist attractions in Rishikesh are ample for holidaying family, adventure seekers, spiritual pilgrims or adventure trekkers. Triveni Ghat, located in the very centre of Rishikesh, is considered very sacred. Pilgrims take a ritualistic dip here before worshipping at the temples. The evening aarti held here is simply incredible. The oldest temple built by Adi Shankaracharya is the Bharat Mandir, dating back to the 9th century. The well known Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh, a 450 feet long suspension bridge, built way back in 1939 endows an irresistible view of the entire Rishikesh. The free Ayurvedic dispensary at Gita Bhawan, near to the Laxman Jhula is definitely a benediction for Rishikesh. Apart from these sightseeing in Rishikesh, one can also explore white water rafting and backpack trekking. Definitely Rishikesh is a delight to explore and enliven.
