The most prominent attraction of Srinagar is the Dal Lake. Next to the Dal Lake is the beautifully laid out Nishat Bagh in Srinagar, made by Asaf Khan, the brother of Empress Nur Jahan in 1633 AD. The garden has terraced layers with water streams flowing down the centre. Shalimar Bagh is an elaborated form of this garden representing the lavishness of the Mughals. The garden is also divided into four terraces and has a water channel running down its centre. On the topmost terrace is the pavilion reserved for the royal visitors. Pari Mahal, Chashmashahi and Hari Parbat are some other sightseeing options here.
