Mount AbuMount Abu: The Queen of Aravalli Ranges

Lauded for being the only hill-station in Rajasthan, Mount Abu Tourism is quite unique. It was previously called as 'Arbudaranya.' Its presence has enamoured the majestic appeal of the Aravalli Range, which envelops it. The sacred value of Mount Abu gets further elevated as it used to be the most visited destination of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. But along with Hinduism, this hill-station also preserves and espouses Jainism. The Dilwara Jain Temples in Mount Abu have an irresistible beauty to them, often termed better in their construction to even the Taj Mahal. The five Jain Temples are called as Vimal Vasahi, Luna Vasahi, Pithalhar, Parshvanath and Mahavir Swami. These marble laden temples were built in the 11th - 13th centuries, especially with marble artefacts. The genuine Jain values of frugality and honesty are depicted in the architectural beauty of these temples.

Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is also a popular destination, often visited by wildlife connoisseurs. One can spot around 820 different plant varieties out here. Nevertheless, the orchids remain as the special asset of this sanctuary. The 80 feet deep Nakki Lake is lauded for being the highest artificial lake in India. The extensive fortification at Achalgarh Fort in Mount Abu denotes the richness of Paramara dynasty. Also, the highest mountain peak in the Aravalli Ranges, called as the Guru Shikhar Peak, endows a fascinating view of Mount Abu's skyline. In addition to all of this, Mount Abu is known for its eco-tourism endeavours.
